I will say the way they’re titled “Pokémon ____ Version 2” makes it seem less like they’re sequels and more like upgrades

of course all of the games have “Version” in the title, people just don’t say it

so I dunno, it could go either way honestly, it could be a direct sequel and carry over plot points and have new locations, or it could just be a rehash with a few differences and a slightly different story. I’d like the former but who knows.
